MoFo LWT (MOdular FOre-end Lightweight) Chassis for Ruger American Rifles(r)
MoFo LWT (MOdular FOre-end Lightweight) Chassis for Ruger American Rifles(r)
Our Indian Creek Design Ruger American® RA/SA and AR/MoFo Chassis have become the pinnacle of performance standard for RA owners worldwide. Our newest addition to the MoFo lineup was designed as an answer to the most common question ever asked about billet rifle chassis, that question being “can you make it even lighter?”.
The LWT is the result of 9 years of RA shooting, experimenting, and learning from using Ruger American® rifles only. This brings us specific expertise that no other chassis manufacturer has with the RA® platform.
Our MoFo LWT chassis is the lightest RA chassis ever, far lighter than anything from other companies and noticeably lighter than our original and still 100% excellent original MoFo, the LWT simply comes to you as light as possible, which is why it is only offered with it’s lightened Lil John format fore-end. If you wanted light, this is it- Sub 1.5 pounds with all hardware, and you add YOUR choice of furniture to finish it as light or heavy (with the weight where YOU want it) as you desire.
Available for Ruger American® short action caliber rifles, both Gen1 and Gen 2. User chooses from AR15/STANAG mag fed or AICS Mag fed.
The RA/SA LWT MoFo chassis uses AICS pattern external box magazines (.223/5.56* and .308)
The AR/MoFo LWT uese any STANAG/AR15 magazine. We do recommend getting rid of any “last round hold open” tabs on your followers in the mags you use for your bolt action rifles.
Magpul®, Accurate®, Ruger®, MDT® and American Rifle Company® AICS pattern magazines have been tested in the chassis. Minor tweaking is needed for some older poly Magpul AI mag to seat properly due to Magpul's catch positioning which is different than ALL other AICS magazines. Watch this short video to see how to fix that- https://youtu.be/94ll0x0szbA Minor magazine tuning may be required with most applications, as with ALL chassis and aftermarket stocks. Email us for tips and tricks, it’s really easy!
*Note: .300 Blackout will not feed 100% reliably from ANY AICS magazine due to the cartridge shape. This is NOT solely a chassis issue but a cartridge shape issue when used with the AICS pattern magazine. We STRONGLY suggest not using an ai magazine with 300blk, but rather using our AR/MoFo inlet with a factory AR mag compatible RA barreled action instead. Email gary@icdproducts.com for more information on this matter.
We suggest only using Carbine style buttstocks. The MoFo accepts AR collapsible commercial and MilSpec buffer tubes, our STFU side folder, and many other items. We do not recommend any fixed/Rifle patterns stocks due to the tang safety design of the RA and how that interferes with the shooters grip hand. You CAN run a Rifle stock, but we caution you to look at the application more closely first.
The MoFo accepts all flat top AR pistol grips (without beavertail) and while some soft beavertail models may fit depending on the style/manufacturer, we do not recommend their use as safety access may be hampered. Every good grip with a beavertail has a flat top version of it too- Seek out the right stuff!
Max Barrel profile is a straight taper 1.4" O.D. (yes, larger than any RA action can accept, so it can fit any barrel you can fit to the RA action.
As with all of our ICD products the MoFo LWT it is 100% made in the USA.
